Black X100 Limited To 10,000 Units
As expected, Fujifilm has introduced a black version of its hugely popular FinePix X100 retro-style digital camera, but it’s restricted to a limited edition run. A total of 10,000 units will be made worldwide (with less than 500 available for the Australian market) and the camera is supplied in an attractive presentation box complete with a leather case, protector filter and a metal lens hood with its adaptor ring. A certificate verifies the camera’s serial number in the edition of 10,000.
The X100 Black Limited Edition is entirely finished in black, including the control dials and the lens barrel with its control ring. Fujifilm says that the use of high-precision sandblasting is used to create an exceptionally smooth surface on the metal components which, in turn, gives the black finish additional depth and richness. The two-piece black leather case supplied with the camera has a red inner lining.
Apart from the external finish, is X100 Black is unchanged under the skin from the standard silver version so it has the same hybrid optical/digital eyelevel viewfinder, 23mm f2.0 Super EBC Fujinon lens (equivalent to 35mm in the 35mm format) and 12.9 megapixels ‘APS-C’ format CMOS sensor.
The Fujifilm X100 Black Limited Edition ‘Premium Set’ is priced at $1799 and the allocation for Australia is expected to sell out quickly. For more information visit www.fujifilm.com.au or contact Fujifilm Australia on (02) 9466 2600.
