QualiFi, the Australian distributor for Klipsch, debuted Klipsch’s new Dolby Atmos loudspeakers at its ‘The Next Phase’ dealer convention held at the Surfers Paradise Hilton in Queensland.
The Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos-enabled home theatre speakers use the same groundbreaking technology as Klipsch’s award-winning Reference Premiere series. ‘Klipsch produces the only two-way, horn-loaded Dolby Atmos enabled speakers in the market today,’ said Ralph Grundl, of QualiFi. ‘Controlled directivity has been at the core of Klipsch acoustic design principles for more than 70 years and it is this—along with Klipsch’s proprietary Tractrix horn technology—that allows the speakers to meet the very strict directivity and sensitivity specifications required for Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.’
The Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos-enabled home theatre speaker line-up consists of two models that accompany the existing Reference series. The all-in-one solution Klipsch R-26FA tower speaker (one of which is pictured at right) with an integrated height channel reflects sound from the ceiling to deliver the overhead Dolby Atmos experience. It features copper-coloured injection-moulded graphite bass/midrange drivers and horn-loaded titanium-domed tweeters. The Klipsch R-26FA speakers retail for $2,999 per pair (RRP).
