Australia’s leading specialist audio and home entertainment magazines for more than 40 years, Australian Hi-Fi and Sound+Image, have been asked many times to re-introduce an annual and, dare we say, ‘old-style’ consumer audio show, in a hotel environment with quality function areas and proper sound rooms for the effective demonstration and auditioning of today’s sophisticated home entertainment equipment.

On behalf of the Chester Group, organisers of the renowned National Audio Show in Britain, Sound+Image, Australian Hi-Fi and nextmedia are proud to announce The Australian Audio & AV Show 2011.

To be held from Friday October 21st to Sunday October 23rd at the Marriott Hotel in the heart of Melbourne’s ‘Theatre District’, the show will offer hi-fi fans the long-awaited opportunity to enjoy traditional room-based personal demonstration of Australia’s finest audio and video products in a relaxed and stress-free environment, with more than 50 individual sound-proof exhibition suites that reflect how a product will perform in the home.

To celebrate the 2011 Australian Audio & AV Show, Next Media, as media partner for the event, will for the first time bring the Australian Sound+Image Awards Presentation Dinner to the Southern capital to drive home the importance of our industry in a dedicated week of exhibition, demonstration and entertainment.

Both Sound+Image and Australian Hi-Fi magazines will be at the show with our own stands, ready to celebrate Australia's first real hi-fi show in 20 years.

altThe Chester Group are privately-owned and independent organisers who have been organising Audio & AV Shows in the UK since 2000, culminating with the National Audio Show which was launched in 2009. This show has been a great success, both nationally and internationally, forming a desire to organise similar events overseas. They have excellent trade connections and also plan to have an open day for anyone who would like to meet them and see their excellent choice of venue; this is likely to be in mid-February, exact dates to be confirmed.
