Harman Technology Limited, the manufacturer of Ilford black and white photographic products, is again making available ultra large format (ULF) sheet film and other specialist products without the usual constraints of minimum order quantities. Instead, Harman will combine orders from participating dealers across the world to ensure production runs remain viable. Orders can be placed up until 28 June 2013 and, after this closing date, Harman will commence manufacturing the products at its factory in the UK with a view to shipping orders to arrive with dealers in September.

The specific products covered include Ilford FP4 Plus and HP5 Plus in sizes up to 20x24 inches and Ortho Plus in hard-to-find sizes such as 18x24 centimetres. Delta 100 Professional sheet film is also available in specialist formats, including an additional three sizes.

Direct feedback from customers sees 70 mm film (both perforated and unperforated) offered for the first time. Additionally, slittings related to older
formats such as 122 and 127 film will accommodate the users of many vintage and classic cameras. These four products will only be available in HP5 Plus; a minimum total of 20 combined orders are required for each before production can proceed.

Steven Brierley, who is the director of marketing at Harman, says, “It is vitally important for us to support users of large format sheet film and other specialist film users. Amalgamating world-wide orders on an annual basis allows us to make a viable production of large format sheet film or custom sizes once a year and, providing the volumes are sufficient, we are happy to
continue doing so”.
