Tibo Audio hi-fi products are available in Australia for the first time. Tibo Audio is owned by Bo Wurtz, who after working for Bang & Olufsen, Eltax and Axia, established Tibo Audio in the UK in 2010.

Although Tibo Audio has a wide range of ‘smart audio’ products, it also sells what Wurtz calls ‘traditional hi-fi products with a very modern twist’, which offer app-controlled Wi-Fi streaming as well as Bluetooth connectivity in addition to traditional wired inputs. Tibo Audio’s ‘Wi-Fi Classics’ range consists of two integrated amplifiers, the SIA-75 and the SIA-50, rated at 75-watts per channel (into 4Ω) and 50-watts per channel (into 4Ω) respectively, plus a Tibo Smart Streamer and PA-150 power amplifier. ‘The Smart Streamer/PA-150 combination gives the user a full-sized pre-amplifier with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming functions and 18 easy-access presets for favourite internet radio stations, or music playlists, as well as a 150-watts per channel stereo power amplifier,’ said Wurtz. Other hi-fi separates models available include the Tibo TI435 integrated amplifier ($499.99), rated at 50-watts per channel (into 4Ω) [pictured above], a matching CD player also able to play back media from a USB drive priced at $549.99 (TI435 CDP), and a matching DAB+/FM radio tuner ($399.99).

Tibo Audio is distributed in Australia by Audio Visual Revolution which was recently appointed as the first and sole Australian distributor. ‘We have strict criteria for our distribution partners to meet and I am delighted that AVR met them all,’ Wurtz told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine. ‘We are very much looking forward to the future with the team at AVR.
