Onkyo’s new TX-RZ830 AV 9.2-channel AV receiver, which is rated at 180-watts per channel (two channels) will integrate seamlessly into a new or existing Sonos system, so users can seamlessly stream music through ‘Sonos Connect’ or select and play music from a local source, and control volume (this last requires a firmware update), across a multi-room audio set-up by using the receiver’s Zone 2 speaker outputs and Zone 3 line outputs.

Both Chromecast and AirPlay are built-in to the new Onkyo TX-RZ830, so you can stream music to it from your smartphone or tablet. You can also control playback via smart speakers using voice control featuring Google Assistant, such as Google Home. Using the Onkyo Music Control App, users can access Amazon Music while TIDAL, TuneIn, Deezer, and Spotify can be accessed via the Onkyo Controller app.

DTS Play-Fi technology enables high-quality audio playback from online music streaming services, media servers and mobile devices to any number of compatible products and using the Onkyo Music Control App, users can sync audio in multiple rooms and enable multi-user control.

The new Onkyo TX-RZ830 has six rear-panel HDMI inputs and a front HDMI input, all of which have HDMI pass-through of HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), and Dolby Vision™ formats as well as 4K/60p, BT.2020, 4:4:4, 24-bit, and HDCP 2.2-protected video. It also has Onkyo’s ‘AccuEQ’ room acoustic calibration technology, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Surround, and DTS Neural:X.
