‘Mu-so 2nd Generation evolves the iconic styling of its predecessor, but under its luxury aluminium casing are game- changing performance, feature and functionality upgrades,’ said George Poutakidis of BusiSoft AV, which distributes Naim in Australia. ‘From high-resolution streaming to multi-room music to TV sound; you’ve never heard it so good from an all-in-one wireless system.’
The main control knob now has 15 touch-sensitive buttons, more attractive lighting and a proximity sensor that wakes the Mu-so whenever you approach it. The metal exterior finish is now in a more burnished and the black grille can be optionally upgraded to one in Terracotta, Olive or Peacock.
Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast come standard on the new Mu-so 2 plus Naim provides both an app and a device for remote control. Tidal, Spotify and Roon are all supported. UPnP lets you stream from PC/ Mac/NAS at up to 32/384kHz.
Naim says the new Mu-so 2nd Generation plays louder than the old one, thanks to a new multicore Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that provides 2000 MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) compared to original Mu-so’s single-core, 150MIPS DSP, and upgraded speakers, developed jointly by Naim and Focal, plus the cabinet volume is 13% larger, which enables bigger, better bass. Available now, the Naim Mu-so 2nd Generation retails for $2,499 (RRP).
