Harman International, which is now owned by Samsung, has announced that all the company’s professional products — JBL Professional, AKG, BSS, Crown, dbx, Lexicon and Soundcraft — will in future be distributed in Australia by AV Technology Pty Ltd (avt) and CMI Music & Audio Pty Ltd (CMI).
‘Strengthening its 35-year relation with Harman, CMI will represent the retail, recording and prosumer audio in addition to current Harman portfolio including Digitech and Axys Tunnel Solutions, and avt will expand its portfolio to include the complete Harman integration and installation audio product suite,’ said Ramesh Jayaraman, VP and GM, Harman Professional Solutions, APAC. ‘All other Harman distribution in Australia and New Zealand remains unchanged.’
Jayaraman told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine that this new distribution model would provide customers greater clarity through simplified sales and support structures and create the opportunity for further investment and expansion by Harman Professional Solutions in the Australian market.
Support, warranty and repair of all Harman Professional products in Australia became the responsibility of avt and CMI on February 1, 2018.
