Harbeth Audio has announced that the fourth and final release in its limited-edition 40th Anniversary Series is now available for pre-order.
The final release is a 40th Anniversary version of the Harbeth Compact 7ES-3 loudspeaker that’s finished in a Tamo Ash wood veneer and comes with additional enhancements including the latest WBT-nextgen binding posts, British-made audio grade poly capacitors and ultra-pure OFC internal cabling. As with previous models in the Harbeth Anniversary series, every speaker will have ‘40th Anniversary’ front and back badges and a metallic black and gold anniversary grille badge. ‘The Tamo Ash veneer has a beautiful iridescent, almost three-dimensional quality,’ said Alan Shaw, of Harbeth. ‘With the added features of the 40th Anniversary range the classic Compact 7ES-3 loudspeaker has been brought up to date with a great contemporary look whilst retaining its natural tonal balance.’
The Harbeth Compact 7ES-3 is a two-way bass reflex bookshelf/stand-mount design that pairs a 200mm-diameter Harbeth ‘Radial2’ bass/midrange driver with a 25mm diameter dome tweeter. Shaw says the frequency response is 45Hz to 20kHz ±3dB, the nominal impedance is 6Ω and the sensitivity is 86dBSPL/1W/1m. The 7ES-3 measures 520×272×317mm (HWD). Aleksandar Maksimovic, of Audio Magic, which distributes Harbeth in Australia, said: ‘Harbeth’s compact 7ES-3 loudspeaker is often described as being the ‘sweetheart’ in Harbeth’s product line thanks to its size, musicality, and timbral accuracy, so this 40th Anniversary version is sure to sell out very quickly.’ Pre-order pricing for the 40th Anniversary Series Compact 7ES-3 is $5,950.00 (RRP) per pair.
