German manufacturer Clearaudio has released its new Panzerholz-bodied moving-coil phono cartridge, the Jubilee MC.

This the first Clearaudio cartridge with a body created from Panzerholz, a high-tech, natural wood product manufactured in Germany,’ said Nigel Ng, of Advance Audio, which distributes Clearaudio in Australia. ‘This remarkable high density, high strength and extremely low resonance material despite being dense enough to sink in water and strong enough to be bullet-proof, is also surprisingly light in weight.’ Each Jubilee MC cartridge is finished with a special paint and polish finish borrowed from the elite violin makers working in Germany.

Clearaudio claims a frequency response of 20Hz to 100kHz for the Jubilee MC, with channel separation of more than 30dB at 1kHz. Channel balance is specified at better than 0.5dB. Available now, the Clearaudio Jubilee MC retails for $7,495 (RRP).
