Synergy Audio Visual, which distributes Cambridge Audio in Australia, has announced that the company’s Aeromax 2 (bookshelf/stand mount) and Aeromax 6 (floor-standing) models are now available in Australia, in either a high-gloss black or a high-gloss white finish. Both models use Cambridge Audio’s unique BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drivers. Unlike loudspeakers using ‘traditional’ drivers, where the crossover between the tweeter and mid/bass woofer takes place at about 3kHz, Cambridge Audio’s use of a BMR driver allows it to shift the crossover frequency down to 250Hz, so that it effectively delivers all sound from 250Hz upwards. ‘The result is fantastically clear, natural and coherent, high-quality audio,’ Phillip Sawyer, CEO of Synergy told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine. ‘Both these speaker models use a new 4th generation version of the BMR driver which features a revised honeycomb structure that offers better uniformity in all directions across the diaphragm, ensuring a smoother and more linear high-frequency response for an immersive, spacious yet more detailed top end.’ Available now, the Cambridge Audio Aeromax 2 sells for $999 (RRP) per pair and the Aeromax 6 sells for $1,799 per pair.
