NOTE ADDED 7th SEPTEMBER: SONOS HAS FIXED THE LION ISSUE, SEE THIS STORY
A month into the release of OS X 10.7 (Lion) for Apple computers and Sonos still hasn't been able to fix the issue of accessing Mac-based iTunes music libraries on the new OS.
But it won't be long, says Andrew Schulert, the company's "VP of Quality" (it's good to know they have a Vice President of quality).
The message, sent to those registered with Sonos as using a Mac-based system, reads:
"First things first. We'd like to apologize. We know that not being able to use your Sonos® system with Lion (Mac OS X 10.7) has been a real drag.
"What's taking so long? Trust us, we're not happy either. The Sonos team has been working feverishly with the team at Apple® for the last month, and we've had some challenges that delayed the fix. The good news is that we've worked with Apple to isolate the problem and we believe we have a fix. To make sure it's right, we're going to test it rigorously before releasing it to you.
"The long and the short of it. We began beta testing earlier this week and if all goes well, we expect that you will be able to enjoy Sonos with Lion in the next two weeks. We promise to let you know the moment it's ready.
"Thanks again for your patience."
