It's been four long years since brit-rock extraordinaires Muse came to Australia, but after making us wait just long enough to feel like we'd been left off the recent world tour, the boys will be back on our shores in December. Yes, it's happening, we finally have a chance to hear live cuts from their 2015 hit record, Drones.
Regarded as a return to their rock routes after leaning towards electronica for an album or two, Drones shot straight to number one in 15 countries including Australia. The supporting arena spectacular that's travelled around the globe, has been a stunning display of rock and roll extravagance, one that regularly makes most other bands rethink their live rigs.
But even though they're at the top of the game, Muse has managed to outdo themselves once more, and the spectacular stages that have made their way across Europe and the USA, will more than likely make their way to Australia if previous tours are anything to go by. They're a live band like no other, that has put as much effort as they can into every single performance since day one. Across the course of seven albums, the stage shows have been exhilarating, absurd and visually astounding.
Expect new songs and some old favourites. Prepare to drift away to "Madness" before moshing 'till your legs turn to jelly when Matt Bellamy tears the strings off his guitar during "Plug In Baby." Grab a ticket and get ready for something you've never seen before because Muse, well, they wrote the book on live performances. Tickets on sale next week.
