This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of Joe Satriani's first visit to Australia. At the time he was guitarist in Mick Jagger's solo band. Now, of course, he's spent decades as one of rock's premier instrumentalists. His Where To Next world tour hits Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this November.

The What Happens Next album featured the rhythm section of Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot) and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), but Joe's live band is equally dangerous: guitar/keyboard virtuoso Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai), bassist Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Steve Vai) and drummer Joe Traverse (Zappa Plays Zappa, Duran Duran). This band is hella tight, having performed for years as Mike Keneally's trio Beer For Dolphins.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at midday Wednesday August 1. My Live Nation members can secure tickets first during the exclusive pre-sale beginning 10am Monday, 30 July.
