Now's a good a time as any to invest in a hard drive upgrade – especially when you look at the whopping 200+ GB of juicy, juicy sounds offered by IK Multimedia with their new SampleTank4 digital workstation.

Designed to be an all-in-one studio workhorse, the fourth iteration of IK's landmark SampleTank software offers a total of 70 fully fleshed-out effects – 13 more than the previous version. The introduction of new dynamic groove players like the Arpeggiator, Strummer, Phraser and Loop Manager all serve to help users tap into their creative side when it comes to spurring up musical phrases.

Now scaleable and zoomable (a feature many have been asking for since the original SampleTank days), the DAW's interface has been redesigned from the ground up, with its sound engine optimised for more fluid performance on both Windows and Mac OS'.

In addition, SampleTank 4 has been develloped for seamless native use with IK Multimedia's iRig Keys I/O controllers.

SampleTank 4 will be available from Sound And Music later in 2019, and comes in three configurations: the SE edition, which includes 2,000 sounds; the standard edition, rocking 6,000; and the Max edition, which bumps the library all the way up to 8,000 sounds.

A specific release date hasn't been set as of writing, but expect more details to come out of NAMM this month.
