It's the most exciting week of the year for Australia's ever-burgeoning music industry: BIGSOUND, where artists, labels, media, other professionals and the general public collide for a massive four days of live sets, conferences, keynotes, networking, and pretty much everything else dedicated to the up-and-comers (and established icons) of the music world. And in 2018, BIGSOUND returns for its biggest and best iteration yet!

With the first batch of conference speakers already announced, it's time to switch our focus to the nighttime, where Brisbane's never-sleeping Fortitude Valley will transform into a live music lover's dream, every venue packed with some of Australia's biggest and brightest young acts. The first lineup announcement features an insane 75 names, including Killing Heidi frontwoman Ella Hooper, pop-punk trailblazers Eat Your Heart Out, indie scorchers Moaning Lisa, emo-pop legend Rachel Maria Cox and UNFD underdogs Slowly Slowly, to scrape just the tip of the iceberg.

Acts like Eilish GilliganHachiku, Sweater CurseCable Ties, Greta StanleyKwame and Paces have been riding high on our radars thanks to their presence on triple j (and its Unearthed spinoff), and we're beyond keen to check out some new rulers like Bugs, ButterfingersRAT!hammock, Two People, Totty and Sleep Talk

But really, there's something for everyone to be found in the absolute tsunami of stage slayers that BIGSOUND have hit us with, every genre from pop to rock to punk to dance, all the way to hip-hop of shoegaze given a fair chunk of the spotlight. And 2018's event is anything like that of the past lot, there's still a whole lot of names yet to be unearthed.

BIGSOUND 2018 will go down over four days and nights on September 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley precinct. Tickets are on sale now, with a variety of festivalgoer and delegate options available. Catch all the details below!

As always, keep your ears and eyes locked to Australian Guitar for all your BIGSOUND 2018 coverage!
