With just over a month out from the second ever Download Festival on Australian shores, organisers have today announced the third and final stack of bands we can expect to tear shit up come March.
It's a mostly local affair, with the new additions (all set aside on their own dedicated stage, dubbed the Ascension Stage) hailing from around the Australian east coast. Punters can look forward to getting their mosh on with Western Sydney deathcore deviants Justice For The Damned, Brisbane shreadheads Aversions Crown, Novocastrian pop-punk powerhouse Eat Your Heart Out, and Melbourne post-hardcore pummelers The Beautiful Monument.
And, in true Aussie fashion, we've claimed a Kiwi band as our own: metal legends Devilskin, who are currently in the country melting faces as the main support on Slash's 2019 arena tour.
The local legends join a crushingly huge lineup for Download '19, including (but sure as hell not limited to) Ozzy Osbourne, Slayer, Judas Priest, Alice In Chains, Ghost, Rise Against, Sum 41 and Anthrax – any of which are performing exclusively at the festival.
Download 2019 will hit Sydney on Saturday, March 9th, with the Melbourne edition landing on Monday, March 11th.
