Four years since their last soul-thrashing jaunt across Aussie shores, prog-metal powerhouse Between The Buried And Me are set to deliver local moshlords their biggest tour yet in 2020.
Plugging last year's monumental Automata project (which spanned two of the band's most acclaimed studio albums), the North Carolinian quintet will hit theatre stages in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne at the tail end of February.
The shows will see Between The Buried And Me play two sets each night, with bassist Dan Briggs explaining, “The ‘evening with’ set is a curation of almost 20 years of music with the specific intent on realising what it all means in 2019 – how did we arrive here and where do we go?
“Sometimes the process of realisation comes from breathing new life into old material. Over the two sets of music, there's a four-part arc that will play out in the form of one cohesive night of music spanning 2002 to 2019.”
Details on support acts are TBA at the present, but with Between The Buried And Me playing two full sets of slick 'n' sour shredding, punters can expect a massive show ahead nonetheless. And given the intimacy of the venues they're playing (which should make it all the more special), we're not expecting tickets to last very long...
