JVC has announced its new KD series of single-DIN receivers bringing the important range of head unit products up to date with the latest features.

The range kicks off with the KD-X241 and culminates with the KD-R881BT range-topper. We’ll concentrate on the $229 KD-R881BT which features ‘Air Mirroring’ Wi-Fi technology while the unit interfaces with JVC’s free app which provides control over its digital time alignment, 13-band equalisation and sonic manipulation features such as the 3-way crossover mode and more.

Also provided are wide format support (FLAC, WAV, MP3, WMA and more) three 4 Volts pre-outs, a USB (1.5A high current charging available) and 4-channel amplification.

Bluetooth V3.0 HPF 1.6 high quality system is in-built and allows both audio streaming with AAC support and hands-free telephony via the pairing to two mobile phones full time. Up to five mobile phones can be included within the Bluetooth AD2P connectivity.

The large blue display features a large accent key with options to customise with colours to match to your car’s instrumentation theme. Full iPhone and Android control is also offered for music playback.

The range is priced at a starting point of $119 for the KD-X241 which is followed by the KD-R486 at $129, the KD-X341BT at $149 and finally the KD-R881BT priced at $229.
