Yamaha’s flagship pre/power amplifiers, the CX-A5000 and MX-A5000, have been awarded the EISA prize for European HT High-end Home Theatre 2014–15.
The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) incorporates nearly 50 specialist magazines from across Europe and serves as the technology world’s largest independent awards panel. The Awards are a celebration of the most desirable and highest performing home entertainment products with categories ranging from television panels to cameras. ‘We’re excited to be the recipient of such a prestigious award,’ commented Justin d’Offay, Product Manager for Yamaha Music Australia’s AV Division. ‘To achieve such acclaim both here and abroad is a testament to not only the products themselves but to the vitality of the multi-channel audio market.’
The CX-A5000 (pre) and MX-A5000 (power amplifier) deliver up to an 11.2 channel configuration with eleven channels each rated at 150-watts. The EISA judges’ comments included the following statement: ‘These two separates are exhilarating and able to enliven even the dullest-sounding speakers. The CX- A5000's parametric equaliser produces superb room correction, including extensive bass management, with all eleven channels individually assignable to suit a variety of configurations. Meanwhile, the MX-A5000 utilises its discrete amps to deliver astonishing levels of power. Overall, Yamaha’s CX-A5000/MX-A5000 pairing makes a superb choice for a high-end home theatre.’ Available in Australia now, the CX-A5000 and MX-A5000 sell for $3,499 (RRP) each.
