Pioneer has released two new Network Audio Players, the N-70AE and N-50AE, that come with Spotify Connect, Chromecast, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth all built in.

The Pioneer N-70AE and N-50AE also both contain high-performance SABRE32 Ultra32 DACs (two of them in the case of the N-70AE) that support PCM formats up to 384kHz/24-bit in the case of the N-70AE (the N-50AE maxes out at 192 kHz/24-bit) as well as 2.8/5.6/11.2MHz DSD playback. Supported codecs include FLAC, WAV, AIFF, and Apple Lossless.

The N-70AE also has a multi-chamber shielded chassis that isolates the power supplies for the digital circuitry from the analog circuitry and improves the structural rigidity of the chassis.

Having Chromecast and Spotify on board means you can stream music from your smartphone or tablet to these players and have album covers—together with album, song, or streaming program information—displayed on their 9cm LCD screens. TIDAL and Deezer can be accessed via system remote or by using Pioneer’s Remote App. In addition, you can play back music stored on external hard disk via USB. Both players also offer music server functionality.

Pioneer’s Remote App enables you to choose songs from desired streaming services, browse libraries on the device, connected PC, or USB HDD, and as well as operate the N-70AE/N-50AE using a smartphone or tablet. ‘The screens on these new network audio players mean that owners can enhance their listening experience with relevant information and artwork that complements the music in a curated atmosphere,’ said Shelden Walker, of Powermove, which distributes Pioneer in Australia. Available now, the N-70AE sells for $2,499 (RRP) and the N-50AE for $1,699 (RRP).
