As part of its new Heritage collection, Polk Audio has launched a range of over-ear, on-ear and in-ear ‘phones. The company’s ‘Buckle’ ($349) and ‘Hinge’ ($249) headphones both have built-in microphones and three-button controller to give users control over audio and phone calls at the touch of a button.
The Buckle and Hinge are available in black and silver, or chestnut and gold with contrasting stitching and metal detailing and use 40mm drivers whose output is said to have been optimised by using Polk’s whimsically titled ‘POET’ technology (Polk Optimised Electro-acoustic Tuning). The on-ear ‘Hinge’ design derives its name from the fact that they have hinge so they can be folded or convenient transportation when you’re not wearing them.
Also newly-released in Australia are Polk’s Nue Era ($129) and Nue Voe ($279) earphones, which are moulded from polymer resin. These can be connected to supported iOS devices and have an easy-to-use three-button control and built-in microphone.
