Simaudio Ltd, the Canadian manufacturer behind Moon products, has announced that it will soon release a new entry-level integrated amplifier, the Moon 240i.
‘This is the entry-level modern integrated you have been waiting for,’ said Costa Koulisakis, of Simaudio. ‘With connectivity accented on digital audio (up to 24-bit/352.8kHz and DSD256), as well as a plethora of analog line-level inputs, plus a phono input, the 240i can easily become the nerve centre of your music and entertainment system.’
Rated with a power output of 50-watts per channel into 8Ω loads, the Moon 240i has three line-level inputs (one of which is a mini-jack on the front panel for portable players), a phono input (MM) and five digital inputs (two optical, two SPDIF and USB). ‘The new Moon 240i has amazing user-configurability to allow users to customise its features for their specific installation, and a great OLED front panel display to show you what’s going on,’ said George Poutakidis, of BusiSoft AV, which distributes Moon in Australia. He added: ‘the sound from the new 240i is organic and detailed, with an exceptionally well-controlled and tuneful bass, plus a wide and airy soundstage.’ The Moon 240i retails for $2,999.
