Focal has released its SIB Evo two-way bass reflex speakers, which marry a 130mm polyflex bass/midrange driver with a 19mm soft dome tweeter in a futuristic cabinet.

Focal’s new SIB Evo is a magnificent evolution of the legendary Sib&Co speakers originally designed in 2002,’ said Chris Murphy of NA Distributors, which distributes Focal in Australia. ‘The design gives added value to the timelessness of the original line by revealing a futurist style with elegant lines whose sound quality is ideal for movie soundtracks, stereo listening and high-definition music.’

In addition to being available as stereo speaker for $385 per pair, the SIB Evo is also available in an Atmos format for $750 per pair. Both speakers are available in a pack with Focal’s Cub Evo subwoofer, which is also available separately for $500. The Cub Evo Sub uses a Class-D amplifier rated with a power output of 200-watts to drive a 210mm down-firing bass driver that operates from a bass reflex enclosure, with the port mounted on one side. ‘The Cub Evo subwoofer delivers sound equivalent to much larger subwoofers,’ Murphy told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine.

Two multi-channel packs are available, the 5.1 SIB Evo, which comprises five Sib Evo speakers, a Cub Evo subwoofer, and two wall mounts ($1,250 RRP) and the 5.1.2 SIB Evo Dolby Atmos, which comprises three Sib Evo speakers, two Sib Evo Dolby Atmos speakers, a Cub Evo subwoofer and two wall mounts ($1,500 RRP).
