David Jones has opened ‘David Jones Technology’, a store within a store where David Jones’s customers can experience the latest lifestyle technologies from brands including Bang & Olufsen, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Audiopro, Naim, Devialet, Yamaha, harman-kardon, Apple, Native Union, Knomo of London, Sennheiser and Master & Dynamic.
‘The David Jones Technology offering will also enable customers to experience ‘connected home’ products such as Google Home and Google Mini in situ, with state-of-the-art concept rooms demonstrating the way technology integrates with home products such as lighting, weather systems, multi-room wireless speakers and TVs,’ said David Thomas, CEO at David Jones. ‘We have created an entirely new experience for our customers which brings together the latest and best edit of audiovisual and technology in an interactive environment. Our aim is to provide customers with an elevated offering through a combination of curated premium product, an interactive in-store experience, expert advice and specialised after sales service. We’ve made a significant investment in our Technology team and worked closely with each of our brand partners to ensure a new level of bespoke service for our customers.’
David Jones Technology has been established in eight key stores across Australia: Sydney (Market Street, Bondi Junction and Chatswood), Melbourne (Bourke Street and Chadstone), Brisbane (Queens Plaza), Adelaide (Central Plaza) and Perth (Hay Street). Products will also be available on-line. Thomas told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine that the in-store/on-line service would be backed up by a ‘premium home installation and after-sales service to ensure customers get the best out of their new products.’
