NAD’s EISA-award winning C338 integrated amplifier is now available for audition at the Melbourne International Hi-Fi Show,.
Geoff Matthews, Managing Director at Convoy, which distributes NAD in Australia, said the C338, which recently won the EISA Award for “Best Value Amplifier 2017–2018” would be demonstrated in the State Ballroom of the Pullman Mercure Hotel, in Albert Park, which is the venue for the show. 'Showgoers will be interested to learn that NAD’s designers have shunned conventional power hungry-linear power supplies and Class-AB output stages that waste nearly half of the energy consumed producing heat rather than sound,’ he said. ‘Instead, they have developed even better-performing circuits based on switch-mode power supplies and Class-D output stages. Blending simplicity and outstanding performance with flexibility, the C338 is designed for the music lover searching for a superb-sounding amplifier that can master music sources, past and present.’
The NAD CD338 is fitted with multiple inputs, including analogue inputs—phono (MM) and line—and digital (coaxial and optical) plus it also has a Bluetooth, so you can stream to it from any compatible device. In addition to the main speaker outputs, the C338 also has a subwoofer output.
The EISA judges said of the NAD C338: “It is the world’s first stereo integrated amplifier with Chromecast compatibility, streaming most major music services at the tap of an app. Despite its slim size, the amp’s Class-D power stage packs 50-watts per channel and offers almost every input you’ll ever need—from Bluetooth, optical/coaxial digital, MM phono and line-level analogue. Factor in the headphone stage and nothing else matches its performance at the price."
