Powermove has released the Gecko Soundbase Stereo Sound System and Radio for iPod.

The Gecko Gear Soundbase has a pair of full-range speakers plus two tweeters and a retractable iPod dock tray that can be opened and closed with a simple push. ‘It delivers crisp, room-filling, quality sound from either your iPod or iPhone,’ says Chris Allsop of Powermove. ‘And it doesn’t just sound good, it looks good too, with clean lines, an attractive black matte finish and a stylish woven mesh speaker grille.’

Gecko claims that its Soundbase is the first Australian-designed iPod Sound System to include an infra-red remote that can control the menus on your iPod and iPhone. The remote control lets you navigate through your iPod or iPhone's menu system giving you complete control over your playlists, songs, artists and albums, all from the comfort of your chair. When you’re not using your iPod or iPhone, you can use the inbuilt AM/FM radio. It has eight programmable memory settings and can be linked with the Soundbase’s digital clock to act as an alarm clock. The LED display, which is used to show time, station, remote function and volume level is ‘Gecko’ green. The Gecko Soundbase will be available mid-November at $179.
